Laura's dobby and jacquard work is a profound exploration of light and space. Using the industrial jacquard loom and its extensive potential for woven structure, Laura manipulates the yarn color and quality to recreate a deep feeling and atmosphere. Her meditation practice brings a more acute sensitivity focus and awareness to light and energy. It is this both subtle and powerful experience that inspires her to create these artworks. Though the primary purpose of these pieces is creative expression, each could be applied to interior furnishings or installed in a public space as a way to transform and bring new intensity to the surroundings.

DIRTY PINEAPPLE
In 2018, Laura worked as a visiting Artist and Designer, developing custom prints for Dirty Pineapple, a Shanghai based up-and-coming clothing brand established in 2016.
The brand caters to a young and creative audience and has caught the attention of the press and consumers with it’s lounge suit and vintage styling approach. With collections under the influence of different cultures, combined with high street fashion and creative matching, Dirty Pineapple aims to adapt to modern urbanites through a multi-layered mix of high-quality basic and innovative items.
Laura worked closely with the creative directors based out of their Shanghai headquarters to design unique and edgy prints for their launch collection.
